Albuquerque

I was able to visit my folks recently in Albuquerque. We made forays into Old Town and up to Santa Fe, but mostly we stuck around their new place which overlooks the valley, and has a fabulous view of Sandia Mountain. Because of the time shift, I was often up early and grabbed my camera to try and do justice to the scene.
Fashion or Portrait
I was assigned to shoot a photograph of a Kayla Van Wie wearing her grandmother’s homecoming dress. Kayla had decided to wear the 50+ year old dress to her homecoming as well. I decided to have some fun if they were willing and walk down to a local park with the pair for a shoot that felt a little more fashion oriented than a straight portrait.

Julia Sullivan
A few weeks ago I was able to shoot a little video about the remarkable Julia Sullivan during the Aurora High School’s band class. I didn’t think I got enough video, despite a good interview, so I went back a couple of days later with my still camera to get some more art for the piece.
George Bartenbach and Steve Fuller

Bartenbach and Fuller developed an exhibit at the Grand Island Public Library featuring turn of the century pictures of the city.
Greg Ulmer

It seems we do a lot of portraits at work lately. The easies t way to make a good portrait is to have a willing subject, like Greg Ulmer here. We were trying to show off the new light for Grand Island Senior High’s little theater. Since Greg is the head of the department he got to be the subject, and we dropped and pointed the lights to try to showcase them.
